Calacatta D'Oro Quartzite

Calacatta D'Oro Quartzite is a breathtaking natural stone that captures the timeless elegance of Italian Calacatta marble with the superior durability of quartzite. Featuring a luminous white background crossed by bold veins of gold and soft grey, each slab is a unique work of natural art. Available through Afrika National Granite's exotic stone collection, Calacatta D'Oro is sourced from select international quarries and stocked at our Alrode facility — making it accessible to South African fabricators, kitchen companies, and designers without the prohibitive cost and complexity of importing a full container load independently. Whether you need a single slab for a bespoke kitchen island or multiple slabs for a commercial fit-out, you can view, select, and purchase from our stock directly. Calacatta D'Oro Quartzite is significantly harder than marble, offering excellent resistance to heat, scratching, and etching — making it a practical choice for high-use surfaces where the look of marble is desired but greater durability is required.

Our Process

Ensuring the highest quality granite is in your hands

We take pride in every step of our process, making sure that each product is crafted to meet the highest standards and carefully aligned with the specific requirements of every project.

Extraction

Granite is extracted in blocks through precision drilling and wire sawing, a method that minimizes waste while maintaining the integrity and quality of each block.

Quality Inspection

Each extracted block is inspected for quality, structural integrity, and suitability for cutting, ensuring the stone meets required standards before processing.

Cutting

Granite blocks are cut into slabs ranging from 20mm to 200mm in thickness using advanced Italian multi-wire saws and gangsaw machinery.

Finishing

Granite slabs are polished using state-of-the-art technology for a high-gloss finish or treated to achieve textures such as sandblasted, flamed, antique, or honed.

Cut to Size

Bridge saws are used to precisely cut granite to custom specifications, ideal for large-scale developments and specialized project requirements.
