Granite pool surrounds are increasingly specified over concrete, timber, and composite alternatives. The reasons are practical: granite stays cooler underfoot than concrete or dark tiles in direct sun, provides excellent grip when flamed (R11-R12 slip ratings), resists pool chemicals and salt chlorination, and doesn't fade, splinter, or deteriorate with UV exposure.
